2018 Maruti Ciaz Diesel Spied Launch Details

A petrol-powered new Maruti Ciaz facelift has been caught on tape, leaked features list confirms several feature additions

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is only hours away from launching the highly awaited new Maruti Ciaz facelift. The upcoming mid-life refresh brings in some styling updates, new features, and a new 1.5-litre petrol that will replace the current 1.4-litre unit.

Here’s a Youtube video that shows the new petrol variant of the refreshed Ciaz in all its glory. These images reveal that the updated car will offer a sleeker front grille and a new front bumper that is bolder than before. The Delta variant will get a set of alloy wheels. The rear will get updated tail-lamps with BMW-like glow pattern and chrome trim for the bumper.

Like the current model, the new Maruti Ciaz facelift will be available in four variants –
Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The top-end trim will get a LED setup for the projector headlamps along with LED DRLs. The car will also get several new features, which include
Electronic Stability Program (for automatic variant only), Hill hold Assist (for automatic variant only), colored MID, and Speed Alert System that warns the driver in case speeds cross 80 kmph by sounding two beeps every sixty seconds and sounding a continuous beep in case the speed is above 120 kmph. Also, both the front seats will have a seatbelt reminder.

The new 1.5-litre petrol engine, which will also go on to power the upcoming new-gen Ertiga, outputs a maximum power of 104 bhp along with a peak torque of 138 Nm. The engine will be available with a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission. The new petrol engine will feature the SHVS mild-hybrid technology.

The petrol variant of the Ciaz will have an ARAI-tested fuel efficiency of 21.56 kmpl for the manual and 20.28 kmpl for the automatic variant. Among the main reasons for this high fuel efficiency is the SHVS mild hybrid technology that’s standard across all trims. The new Maruti Ciaz facelift will be the most fuel efficient sedan in its segment.
