The new generation Renault Duster will go on sale in India next year while its Nissan sibling has also been confirmed

Renault Nissan Alliance has announced its future plans for the Indian market as four new SUVs are waiting to arrive in the coming years. Two of them, one for each brand, will be midsize five-seater SUVs and the other two will be their respective seven-seater iterations as the French-Japanese conglomerate looks to make a big impact in the domestic automotive scene.

It sort of comes a full circle as Renault made a name for itself in India with the Duster and it is coming back based on the latest global avatar. It is yet unknown whether the new generation Duster’s Nissan counterpart will bear the Terrano or not but both models have been teased giving us a clear view of what to expect in the 2025 calendar year.

For starters, the 2025 Renault Duster and its Nissan sibling will be underpinned by the heavily localised CMF-B architecture that can be found in a host of models within the alliance. The teaser image shows the presence of a different headlamp lamp and redesigned bumper section compared to the global third generation Renault Duster.

The Nissan midsize SUV boasts a more modern appeal with the presence of L-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights in a connected fashion. The five-seaters will take on Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate while the seven-seaters will rival Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, etc.

The seven-seater midsize SUVs are expected to be influenced by the Dacia Bigster concept as well and the Duster three-row version has already been spied testing in Europe. While no powertrain details have been announced, a small capacity turbo petrol engine could be offered, paired with manual and automatic transmission options. The interior will be packed with features and expect aggressive pricing strategy for each model.
