The new-gen Dzire compact sedan will be one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the Indian market

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new-gen Dzire in the Indian market in the first half of 2024 and will be positioning it as a direct rival to the cars like the Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Aura. The Dzire will be the first compact sedan in the brand’s line-up to be offered with a strong hybrid petrol engine.

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire will be offered with three engine options which include a 1.2L NA petrol engine, a 1.2L strong hybrid petrol engine, and a 1.2L CNG engine. Internally called the Z12E, the new 1.2L strong hybrid setup will use a three-cylinder engine that comes coupled with Toyota’s strong hybrid tech.

This hybrid engine is likely to boast a claimed fuel economy of more than 35 kmpl. Maruti is also expected to expand its strong-hybrid portfolio in the country in the coming months. Furthermore, the new Dzire will also boast a new exterior design along with a revised front fascia. The prominent changes include a new front bumper, a large front grille, projector LED headlights, LED tail lights, machine-cut alloy wheels, and more.

It will also get new exterior colour options and is likely to have similar dimensions as the present iteration. Once launched, it will be sold via the Maruti Arena dealerships and will be around Rs 80,000 to 1 lakh more expensive than the present iteration.

Inside, the new Dzire will continue to boast a spacious and a comfortable cabin along with a long features list. The features on offer include a large touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument console, heads-up display, steering-mounted controls, push-button start, automatic climate control, and a cooled storage console. It is also likely to get the latest Suzuki Connect technology in addition to other mobile connectivity features.

The brand is also working on the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift for the Indian market which will share its underpinnings and the powertrain options with the Maruti Dzire. The Swift is likely to be the most affordable strong-hybrid car in the country at the time of its launch in Q1 2024.
