2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220F gets cosmetic enhancements along with the engine tweaked to comply BS-IV emission norms; power and torque outputs remain the same
Bajaj Auto has officially launched the all-new Pulsar 220 in India at Rs. 91,201 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The updated model comes priced around Rs. 4,000 higher than the normal version. The new Pulsar 220 sports cosmetic and mechanical changes, while the ‘F’ letter is also back in the name which was removed earlier.
The Pulsar 220 comes retaining the sporty styling and features. But the refreshed model has received new body graphics (red/black or white/blue combinations), blue backlit instrument console instead of orange backlit console, sporty rim-decals, new exhaust with matte-grey finishing and chrome garnishing as well. Also it dons new softer seats offering more comfortable riding experience, and matte finish handlebar instead of glossy finish.
On mechanical front the new Bajaj Pulsar 220 comes with an updated engine, which is BS-IV emission compliant. Power and torque output remains same, as the engine churns out 21.05 PS of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 19.12 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. Transmission duty is done by same 5-speed manual gearbox. Apart from that, the bike gets a new timing chain ensuring lesser noise and smoother power delivery. The bike will lock horn with rivals like Suzuki Gixxer SF and Yamaha Fazer Fi.
Bajaj Pulsar is certainly a very popular bike range in India for quite long time. The company keeps updating these bikes more often, but generally with new colour schemes. This time the changes came in more significant way, which will surely enhance the appeal of Pulsar and also make them environmental friendly.
