MG Motors is keeping itself busy with the recent launch of the MG Hector Blackstorm Edition and is now planning to launch 2 more products that will pull in more crowd.

1. MG Gloster Facelift

The new MG Gloster Facelift will carry a more aesthetic change on the exterior and the interior while most of the mechanicals are expected to remain the same. On the exterior, it will get a completely revised front fascia with a huge grille at the centre and a split headlamp setup with the DRLs placed next to the top of the grille and the headlamps will be stationed at the ends of the newly designed bumpers.

The interior was already a premium place to be in when compared to the likes of the Fortuner or the Endeavour, and it now will get better with a larger infotainment screen at the centre with wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, and it may get the Level-2 ADAS suite.

Mechanically, it will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo diesel on the 2WD variants and the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine on the 4WD variants while the transmission options are restricted to an 8-speed torque converter gearbox. We expect the pricing to be around Rs 40-45 Lakh during the time of launch.

2. MG Electric MPV

Recently there were spy shots that showed the MG electric MPV being tested on Indian roads with heavy camouflage. MG have already confirmed that this EV will be based on the Wuling Cloud EV and the one that was found testing had given away a few important features even though it was heavily camouflaged.

The design elements include a split headlamp setup, indicators integrated into the LED DRLs, a charging port on the left front fender, new alloy wheels, door-mounted ORVMs, LED taillights, integrated spoiler, flush door handles, and rear bumper with space for the number plate.

On the inside, it gets a huge floating touchscreen unit, digital instrument cluster, controls mounted on the steering wheel, manual IRVM and rear AC vents. Coming to the powertrain, MG’s version of the Cloud EV in India will be powered by a large 50.6kWh battery that will be paired with a single electric motor on one axle which should be good for a claimed range of 505 km on a single charge.
