MG Motors has finally revealed the price of the much-awaited Hector SUV rivalling Tata Harrier in the Indian market today

The prices of the MG Hector were revealed officially today and it carries a very competitive starting price tag of Rs 12.18 lakh, which makes it cheaper than the Tata Harrier. However, the base version of the MG Hector comes with a petrol engine option, which is not available with Tata Harrier. The diesel version of Hector priced from 13.18 Lakh is costlier by Rs.18,000 against the Harrier diesel base, which is priced at Rs. 13 Lakh. The MG Hector comes with some of the first-in-segment features that are not available in any of the cars in the segment. The most prominent of these features is the 10.4-inch vertically-mounted infotainment screen. The Internet-connected infotainment system gets various security features like geo-fencing that can turn off the car after it crosses a pre-set limit on the map.

It receives a 5G-ready eSIM embedded in the vehicle that also allows live tracking of the car on the phone. What’s more? The smartphone app can be used to control the features like AC in the car remotely. In the Tata Harrier, it produces a maximum of 140 PS and peak torque of 350 Nm. Both the models offer only a 6-speed manual transmission. The Harrier offers a maximum length of 4,598mm while it is the widest SUV in the segment with 1,894mm of width. It gets a height of 1,706mm while the wheelbase is 9mm shorter than the Hector. However, it offers a maximum ground clearance of 205mm – 13mm more than the MG Hector.
