Mercedes-Benz C-Class Edition C bears several cosmetic updates and feature additions; no powertrain changes implemented
The Indian arm of Mercedes-Benz has launched a new special edition of its top-selling C-Class sedan in the domestic market. Dubbed the Edition C, the new member in the C-Class portfolio comes with a starting price of Rs. 42.54 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The special edition gains a slew of cosmetic and interior upgrades to differentiate it from the rest of the range.
The Edition C is to elevate the sporty appeal of the entry-level premium sedan. Speaking at the occasion, Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, explained the importance of regularly upgrading the products to endure success in the market and for effective lifecycle management.
Since making its commercial debut, the C-Class range has sold over 27,500 units and the Edition C is hoped to maintain the product strategy for the brand and to entice the discerning customers. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Edition C gets a new paint scheme known as Designo Hyacinth Red and it enhances the visual stance of the four-door sedan by a few notches.
The significant cosmetic updates are a rear spoiler painted in black colour and a front lip spoiler along with Edition C badging, LED logo projectors for front doors and lighter black alloy wheels. To provide a bold look to the exterior, Mercedes-Benz has applied black colour on the side skirts, beltline, front twin louvers and mirror housings.
There are a few subtle updates inside the cabin as well including sports pedals finished in stainless steel with embossed rubber studs, open pore black ash wooden trim finish and Garmin Map Pilot SD car navigation system. The three trim options in which the special edition is made available are the C200 Avantgrade, C 220 d Avantgrade and C250 d Avantgrade. They are priced at Rs. 42.54 lakh, Rs. 43.54 lakh and Rs. 46.87 lakh respectively (all prices ex-showroom).
