Toyota is said to be working with Maruti on its new Coupe SUV for the Indian Market and it could go on sale next year

Soon after the debut of the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, there are strong reports that both brands are now working on a new compact coupe SUV for the Indian market. Here are all the details you should know about this upcoming Toyota SUV coupe.

From what we know so far, this new SUV Coupe is being co-developed by Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. Internally codenamed the YTB, this new SUV is underpinned by Suzuki’s lightweight HEARTECT platform. Just like the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Grand Vitara, there will be two different iterations, one each for Maruti and Toyota.

These new models will likely be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023 and will feature aggressive styling and a strong road presence. If reports are to be believed, Toyota might use styling cues from the global Yaris Cross while it will also offer a long list of features and equipment for the buyers. This new SUV coupe is also expected to feature similar alloy wheels as the Hyryder and the Glanza.

While more details are yet to be shared by the brand, we are currently expecting this new SUV to be offered with either a 1.0L petrol BoosterJet engine or a 1.5L petrol engine. Likewise, it will also be offered with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options.

Inside, it will likely boast a comfortable and spacious cabin along with a stylish and practical dashboard layout. On the features front, this new SUV is expected to get a large touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, automatic climate, wireless charging pad, and rear AC vents. Other features like a large sunroof and a fully digital instrument console might also be offered.

This new Toyota SUV is expected to go on sale in 2023 and will take on the rivals like the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, etc.
