The new Celerio is expected to be based on the Heartect platform and it already underpins many models like the new Baleno, Swift, Wagon R and Ignis. The design of the new model will be different but the overall shape will be retained. The interior is going to be new with a modern design theme and it will be packed with lots of features.

The next-generation Celerio likely to get the new touch screen infotainment system which debuted with Wagon R as it comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and much more. Maruti is expected to increase dimensions of new Celerio as the current model measures 3695 mm length, 1600 mm width, 1560 height and 2425 mm wheelbase.

Maruti is currently offering the Celerio with one engine option as the 1.0 L K-Series petrol engine produces 67 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The new model might also come with a powerful 1.2 L engine from Swift and the launch could take place late next year.
