Maruti Suzuki Presents 35 New Vehicles To Haryana Police

Maruti Suzuki presents 35 new vehicles to Haryana Police in a bid to improve road safety; the total fleet now increases to 52 vehicles

Maruti Suzuki India Limited have provided 35 additional vehicles to Haryana Police department in a bid to further consolidate its commitment to making safer Indian roads. The new fleet of vehicles includes 20 patrolling Ertiga models, 8 interceptors of Ertiga and 7 Eeco ambulances. All the vehicles were subjected to modifications for complying with requirements of traffic police department.

During the presentation ceremony to the Haryana Police, the Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal was accompanied by Mr. Rao Narbir Singh, Minister for PWD (B&R), Forest, Civil Aviation and Architecture, Government of Haryana, Mr. B S Sandhu, Director General of Haryana Police and Mr. Sandeep Khirwar, Commissioner of Police-Gurugram among other delegates.

These vehicles will do patrolling, surveillance, enforcement and medical emergency support across Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, Sonepat and Jhajjar districts of Haryana. The Maruti Suzuki CSR initiative will enable the Police Department to strengthen its patrolling capabilities on National Highway (NH48) from Ambience mall to Bilaspur), Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway and other parts of the district.

The 7 Eeco ambulances will be vital in providing medical services to victims of road accidents right on time. There are a number of features the vehicles are equipped with that you do not normally see on regular passenger cars. For instance, accessories like Body Graphics for patrolling, Beacon Light, Siren and Public Address System are typical to the police department.

The interceptor Ertigas get breath alcohol analyzers to detect drunken motorists along with roof-mounted day and night all-weather PTZ cameras, LED monitor Roof light bars and public address mechanisms, laser based traffic speed video systems, printers for on-spot charging sheets, etc.

Maruti Suzuki provided 15 Ertigas and 2 Eeco ambulances to the Haryana Police department earlier this year and thus the fleet now comprises of 52 vehicles in total for assisting the police. It is part of the brand identifying Gurugram as a focus city and signing a MoU with Gurgaon Traffic Police and Municipal Corporation of Gurugaon.

It covers 7.5 km of high traffic-density road stretch with interjections like Bristol Chowk, IFCCO Chowk, Signature Tower and HUDA City Centre. It has also employed 100 Sadak Suraksha Sevaks to support the traffic police. Partnering NATPAC, a government road research agency, the brand has conducted survey to assess road safety awareness in the City.
