Maruti Suzuki eVX will be capable of a claimed driving range of over 550 km on a single charge and it could debut later this year

At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 last month, India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki displayed the eVX concept following its global debut at the 2023 Auto Expo before the more evolved version was showcased at the Japan Mobility Show late last year. The eVX has already been spotted testing multiple times in India as well as Europe.

The latest set of spy images gives away plenty of details about the upcoming midsize electric SUV, which is expected to make its world premiere later this year before entering markets like India, Japan and Europe in early 2025. The test prototypes have continued to evolve over the last few months as it is getting closer to its production avatar.

Amidst wearing a thick black wrap, the five-seater has been caught on camera with a charging port mounted on the front fender and rear door handles mounted on the pillars. You could also see different camera mountings as the Maruti Suzuki eVX will feature a 360-degree camera system and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology.

The front fascia will have a lot of similarities with the concept and the rear gets an integrated spoiler, high-mounted stop lamp and shark fin antenna complementing the connected LED tail lamps. The design of the LED signatures will replicate that of the concept and the production model will run on sporty-looking alloy wheels.

A little peek at the interior suggests the presence of a floating touchscreen infotainment system while the instrument console will also be a digital unit. It will also gain a heads-up display, wireless smartphone charge, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, powered driver and front passenger seats, a multifunctional steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM and so on.

Underpinned by Toyota’s 27PL platform, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will feature a 40 kWh and a 60 kWh battery pack, capable of a claimed driving range of around 550 km on a single charge. Both single and dual electric motor setups are likely and the eVX will give rise to a Toyota sibling in the second half of 2025 for the domestic and global markets.
