The eVX, Maruti Suzuki’s inaugural all-electric vehicle, is expected to launch in India around mid-2025 with a range of over 550 km

Maruti Suzuki showcased the eVX concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, following its initial unveiling at the 2023 Auto Expo. The eVX was also presented at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo late last year. This model is particularly significant for Suzuki, as it will be the brand’s first all-electric vehicle for both international and domestic markets.

The company is testing the eVX prototypes in preparation for its launch in the Indian market in early to mid-2025. This midsize electric SUV will compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv, Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV, etc and it will measure an overall length of around 4.3 metres.

Built on a version of Toyota’s 27PL skateboard platform, the Maruti Suzuki eVX is expected to come with 40 kWh and 60 kWh battery options. It will reportedly offer a driving range of up to 550 km per charge. The eVX will likely support fast charging and Vehicle-to-Load capabilities and could be offered in single and twin electric motor variants. India will act as an export hub for this model.

The exterior of the Maruti Suzuki eVX will sport a charging port on the front fender. The overall design will be more toned down compared to the concept version. Recent spy image has revealed newly designed T-shaped five-spoke alloy wheels. Additional features include sleek LED headlamps, LED DRLs, rear door handles mounted on the pillars, and a redesigned dashboard and centre console.

The cabin will undergo significant changes compared to the current range of Maruti Suzuki passenger vehicles. Key features include a large freestanding touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a fully digital instrument cluster, a HUD, wireless charger, automatic climate control and adjustable headrests.
