Mahindra XUV300 promises to make a big impact in the SUV segment against Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport

Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to introduce the XUV300 compact SUV In the domestic market on February 14 and it has been receiving huge appreciation for the way it looks and a packed features list.

The XUV300 competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport and comes equipped with several interesting segment-first features to have a competitive advantage over rivals as revealed in the official video.

The XUV300 is based on the X100 platform that underpins the SsangYong Tivoli and it shares the edgy styling with its Korean sibling. Having said that, it is easy to see its exterior lineage with the bigger XUV500. The XUV300’s nomenclature had long been a subject of discussion before Mahindra decided to go with positioning it as a smaller brother to the popular XUV500.

On the outside, standing true to its nameplate, it has a similar front grille as it’s bigger sibling while the flowing LED Daytime Running Lights connecting the fog lamps also reminisces the XUV500.

The XUV300 adorns big alloy wheels and a compact rear profile with horizontal LED tail lamps. The five-seater also gets dual-tone exterior as an option with the roof finished in white colour as seen in the pictures.

The segment-first equipment the Mahindra XUV300 has are seven airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control system and so on.

The homegrown manufacturer could price the XUV 300 aggressively in India with heavy localisation as prices are expected to hover around Rs. 7 lakh and Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
