The waiting period for some Mahindra SUVs has drastically reduced in recent months; only up to 7 weeks for the XUV700
Credit where it is due as Mahindra & Mahindra has worked behind the curtains to bring down the waiting period of some of its popular models in the domestic market in recent times. The top-selling Mahindra Bolero MUV has an almost negligible waiting period while it stands at up to 43 weeks for select variants of the Thar.
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N have been well received by customers since their market debut and they combine to record impressive sales numbers every month on a consistent basis. The Scorpio Classic is essentially the old-generation Scorpio with cosmetic updates while the Scorpio N is a brand new offer based on a new ladder frame chassis.
The S variant of the Scorpio Classic has a waiting period of up to eight weeks while it stands at up to 20 weeks for the top-spec S11 trim. Customers wanting to own the Scorpio N will have to wait up to 20 weeks for the base diesel MT variant. The Z8S, Z8 and Z8L AT trims command a waiting period between 9 and 11 weeks.

Their respective MT trims ask for a waiting of 12 to 14 weeks only. The Z4 petrol has the latest waiting period between 12 and 18 weeks while the Z6 has it between 14 and 16 weeks. The Mahindra Thar 4WD version has a low waiting period between 6 and 8 weeks while the 2WD commands a lengthy waiting of up to 43 weeks for the hard top diesel.
The Thar 2WD hard top petrol asks for a waiting period of 16 to 18 weeks. The five-door Mahindra Thar could be dubbed the Thar Armada and it will be revealed on August 15, 2024 in India. It will boast larger proportions than the existing three-door model and will have a more premium cabin enabling more advanced equipment and technologies.
The Mahindra XUV700 commands a waiting period of up to 5 and 4 weeks for MX and AX3 grades respectively. The AX5 has it at up to 7 weeks while the AX7 and AX7L have a waiting period of up to 6 weeks apiece.
