Mahindra Quanto Facelift has been rendered; expected Launch at Auto Expo 2016

Mahindra is all pumped up to introduce the Quanto Facelift next year with a completely redesigned front fascia after failing to attract customers in its first attempt. Excepted to be called as Mahindra Canto and likely be repositioned, the Quanto Facelift could get redesigned headlamp cluster with integrated LED daytime running lights and new grille with chrome highlights , all-new bumpers, body cladding and restyled alloy wheels for the top-end models.

On the inside, the facelifted Quanto will feature brand-new seats with better cushioning and lumbar support, upgraded infotainment system with the BlueSense application, newer dashboard and steering wheel with beige theme and audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and voice command recognition function.

Under the hood, the prominent mechanical tweak expected on the Mahindra Quanto Facelift will be a revised suspension for better ride comfort and the inclusion of extra bushes and stability bar at the rear derived from the Xylo SUV. The Quanto is currently sold with a three-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel engine that was a downsized version of what’s used in Xylo. 2012 Mahindra Quanto Price

Mahindra is more likely to opt for the all-new mHawk80 three-cylinder unit on the facelifted model. It produces 84 bhp and 230 Nm of torque on the recently launched TUV300 and returns a mileage of 18.49 kmpl. The Quanto autoSHIFT transmission debuted at the Auto Expo 2014 and it could be offered in the updated model as in the TUV300 SUV. The AMT(Automated Manual Transmission) may also come along with features like regenerative braking.

The launches of Quanto Facelift and XUV100 mini SUV are more likely to boot Mahindra’s plans to introduce new vehicles in 2016. Codenamed as S101, the XUV100 is reported to be revealed in the third week of January whilst the cloak on the Quanto facelift is expected to be pulled off at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 in February.
