The premium Lexus LX 450d luxury SUV is powered by 4.5-litre 1VD-FTV V8 diesel engine shared with Toyota Land Cruiser 200
Toyota owned premium luxury car manufacturer Lexus has launched the LX 450d in India at a price tag of Rs. 2.32 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser LC200, this Lexus SUV comes sporting a very powerful, muscular and luxurious appearance. This is the third model from the luxury carmaker in India after the RX 450 h crossover and ES 300h sedan.
Toyota made it clear that it is focusing the premium car market in India, which has seen a rising demand in recent years. In order to grab a good share in the segment, the Japanese automaker has brought its subsidiary luxury brand Lexus here. Speaking about the latest LX 450d SV, it has only one competitor in the country, the Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography priced at Rs. 2.27 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

In terms of design, the Lexus LX 450d comes borrowing design cue from the Toyota Land Cruiser, but the distinctiveness is also clearly visible from every angle. It sports signature large Lexus grille with X shape and horizontal shape. The sharp headlamps come incorporating dual-beam LED lamps along with LED cornering lights and L shaped LED daytime running lights.
Apart from that, the SUV also gets vertically positioned LED fog lamps, LED taillights, large 18-inch alloy wheels, muscular and subtly flared front and rear fenders and a perfect boxy shape. Inside the cabin, Lexus has equipped this vehicle with the premium quality material and features. There are features like large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console, separate entertainment system for rear seat occupants with with 8-nch display, 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference audio system, 4-camera multi-terrain back monitor system etc.

Power source for the newly launched Lexus LX 450d SUV is the same 4.5-litre 1VD-FTV V8 diesel engine shared with the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. This engine is well capable of churning out 261.35 hp of peak power at 3,400 rpm and 650 Nm of peak torque between 1,600 rpm and 2,600 rpm. Transmission duty is done by a 6-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to all the four wheels through a 4WD system.
