Kia has reported its fourth highest-ever monthly sales in the domestic market in the month of October 2023 with 24,351 units

Kia India has today announced that it has reported its fourth highest-ever monthly sales in the domestic market in the month of October 2023 with 24,351 units. This has been helped by the good demand during this festive season and the strong growth recorded by the recently facelifted Seltos midsize SUV. The brand posted 23,323 units during the same period last year leading to a YoY positive growth of 4.41 per cent.

The Kia Seltos led the way with a total of 12,362 units while the Sonet garnered a total of 6,493 units and it was followed by the Carens with 5,355 units and the EV6 electric crossover with 141 units. Speaking of the sales performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head, Sales & Marketing, Kia India said,

“During the festive season, our customers’ positive outlook has helped us achieve our fourth-highest monthly sales ever in India. The fact that our products like the Seltos, Sonet and Carens continue to dominate in their respective segment, despite multiple new launches by competition, is a major accomplishment. We are working towards maintaining the same momentum in the coming months”.

In the current calendar year (January to October 2023 period), the South Korean auto major recorded 2,19,702 units and the Seltos contributed to the major sum of the total volumes with 83,250 units. It was followed by the Sonet compact SUV with 73,333 units while the Carens contributed a total of 60,817 units.

Kia commenced mass production in August 2019 and it has an annual production capacity of three lakh units. It has completed over ten lakh dispatches from its Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh including over 7.5 lakh for the domestic market and close to 2.5 lakh for the export scene. Kia has a vast sales network comprising 432 touchpoints across 213 cities.

Next up, Kia will look to launch the facelifted version of the Sonet in early 2024. The company has already confirmed bringing in three new products next CY. The new-generation Carnival will likely be one of them and it will succeed the third-gen Carnival, which was discontinued a few months back in India.
