Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has been offered in a single variant with four-door body style only; packs 200 PS power from 2.8L EcoDiesel engine
FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) has just launched the eagerly awaited Jeep brand in India through two products, the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler Unlimited. The Wrangler, described as the ‘most capable production 4×4 vehicle in the world’ will be sold in a single variant, for a price tag of Rs. 71.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It can seat five occupants and the legendary American off-roader comes with a styling to brag about. Up front, it comprises of the signature trapezoidal wheel arches, round-shaped traditional headlamps and a menacing vertically-slotted seven slat grille. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4×4 variant will be offered only as a four door model and it comes with three-piece modular and removable hard top as well as a soft top as standard.
The premium nature of the SUV is signified with its interior presence as it composes of Alpine music system with nine speakers, 6.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice command, McKinley leather seats with accent stitching, lockable centre console, etc. The only Trail Rated SUV in the market features heavy duty solid axles, 18-bolt main case joint clamping for extreme off-roading and 17-inch Silent Armour Goodyear Tyres.
The Wrangler Unlimited will source power from a 2.8-litre turbocharged, EcoDiesel, four-pot, inline, diesel engine which makes 200 PS at 3,600 rpm and 460 Nm of peak torque between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. It has a claimed fuel efficiency of 12.1 kmpl and the power is transferred to all four wheels through a five-speed auto ‘box with the aid of Command-Trac shift-on-Fly 4WD system.
It measures 4,583 mm in length, 1,877 mm in width, 1,829 mm height and has a wheelbase of 2,947 mm while having a ground clearance of 238.2 mm. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has been made available in six colour schemes such as Black, Rhino, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal and Billet Silver Metallic. There’s a Black Freedom Top hard top and a Premium Black Sunrider soft top option as well.
