Suzuki officially revealed Vitara facelift at 2018 Chengdu Motor Show. The China-spec Suzuki Vitara gets the same changes as the European model. The front gets new grille along with LED headlamps and an updated bumper with new lower section. The black plastic body cladding continues in the new model also.

The only change on the side is the introduction of new alloy wheels. The Vitara now comes with LED tail lamps and the graphics also got an update along with new bumper at rear. Suzuki will offer dual tone exterior colour options with Suzuki Vitara to make the new model attractive.

The interior of the Suzuki Vitara continues same design theme as previous model, but the dashboard is finished in soft-touch materials for a premium feel. The three spoke multi-function steering wheel is wrapped in leather and the instrument cluster gets a new design. The company infotainment system also got an update.

Suzuki has loaded Vitara with lots of features like leather seats, key less entry, push button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps and more. The Suzuki Vitara now comes with advanced safety features like autonomous emergency brakes, lane keeping assist, traffic alerts and more.

Suzuki Vitara ditches 1.6 L petrol engine with 115 hp and 156 Nm and replaces it with a 1.4 L turbocharged unit producing 140 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 220 Nm of torque at 1,700 -4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.

The power will be sent to all four wheels via Suzuki’s ALLGRIP four-wheel drive system and it will be available only with an automatic transmission like the previous model. We are expecting Maruti Suzuki to introduce new Suzuki Vitara next year in India to compete against Hyundai Creta.
