In US, Kia will only offer 64 kWh battery pack, which powers a single electric motor producing 201 hp of power and 392 Nm of torque
Kia is currently working on next generation of Soul Compact SUV and the new model will be based on Hyundai Kona platform. The EV variant of Soul has been spotted for the first time at the Nurburgring. The test mule didn’t get exhaust and the battery pack is visible underneath, which confirms it is the EV variant of Soul.
The Soul Compact SUV will come with an evolutionary design theme as boxy profile from current model will be retained. But EV variant comes with headlamp positioned on conventional position and LED fog lamps on bumper, but the regular model gets LED DRLs on top and headlamps are positioned slightly lower.
The EV variant also gets closed grille, which will reduce drag and the company will give air-curtain on front bumper. The charging port will be positioned below drive side headlamp and alloy wheels on EV variant will get a different design theme. Apart from these exterior changes, the EV and regular model will identical.
The interior of new generation model will be similar to other Kia models and we can expect the new model to come with lots of features like touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, leather seats, reverse camera with parking sensors and more.
The new Soul will get advanced safety features like emergency brake assist, lane departure warning along with airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control system and more. Kia hasn’t given details about the electric powertrain, but we can expect European model to come with same battery pack as Kona EV.

The new generation Soul is expected to make its debut later this year and India launch might happen in the near future.
