Honda has put up a good show at the EICMA Motor Show 2023 in Milan, Italy. The Japanese two-wheeler giant has showcased a slew of 2024 model motorcycles which includes a few brand new models. Amongst these, the legendary Honda CBR600RR supersport bike has made a comeback after it was discontinued around 6 years ago. In addition to this, the NX500 has also been revealed at the motor show sporting the new NX (New x-over) nameplate. This is the rebranded version of the CB500X adventure tourer and it has got plenty of updates in the new avatar.

1. Honda CBR600RR Supersport

To begin with, the CBR600RR gets an array of much-needed updates to bring it at par with the current standards. It is powered by a 599cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine churning out 119 bhp and 63 Nm of peak torque. Riding on 17-inch wheels at both ends, the bike gets Dunlop Roadsports 2 rubber.

Cosmetic changes to the pack include a more aggressive styling, a twin-pod headlamp and we can see the addition of functional aerodynamic winglets. The under-seat exhaust system has been retained for the iconic appeal. Honda has no plans to bring the CBR600RR to the Indian market due to low demand but you can still buy the CBR650R which retails at 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom).

2. Honda NX500 Adventure Tourer

Talking about the new NX500, Honda has given a complete makeover to the adventurer tourer in order to make it future-proof. The design is brand new with a more mature-looking front profile, larger windscreen, sleek LED headlamp and a beefy fairing lending the bike a more dominating road presence. The use of lighter wheels has helped to cut down on the kerb weight by 3 kg (now 196 kg), thus helping with overall dynamics and power-to-weight ratio.

The two-wheeler draws power from a familiar 471cc parallel twin liquid-cooled engine putting out 47 bhp and 43.2 Nm of peak torque. The engine has been updated with a crank counterweight and balancer shaft for a smoother riding experience, however, the power output numbers remain the same. As per the reports, the Honda NX500 could be launched in India by early next year and it will replace the CB500X in the brand’s portfolio.
