The all-new fourth-generation Kia Sorento is expected to be unveiled in the coming months before going on sale early next year, India launch expected in 2021

While Kia has been busy expanding its SUV portfolio, the Seltos gained plenty of attention for its global appeal and price tag. However, there is another SUV that deserves a lot more prominence and is the much-improved version of the Sorento. The SUV will enter fourth generation and it has been codenamed MQ4.

The main rival to Ford Explorer will undergo a complete redesign in its next avatar. It will be in line with the latest Soul, Seltos and the flagship Telluride eight-seater. The Tiger Nose front grille should take a more progressive chrome treatment with sharper LED headlamps in wraparound fashion.

Other exterior highlights include sculpted bodywork, peculiar rear quarter window fin as in the ProCeed wagon, masculine rear end resembling Range Rover Sport, raked rear pillars as in the previous Sorentos, aggressive tailgate structure and sporty diffuser finish. It could get more spacious on the inside due to increased dimensions.

The cabin, on the other, comprises of a new design derived from the Telluride and thus high-quality material finish and packed features list are on the cards. Some of the equipment to be offered are a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, heated and ventilated seats, USB charging ports, wireless charger, HUD and so on.

A whole host of driver-assistive and safety features are also in the pipeline including
smart cruise control, lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe-exit assist (SEA) that can be seen on other premium modes within the range. The South Korean auto major will see the upcoming Sorento with a variety of engine choices.

A 2.4-litre inline, 2,2-litre diesel, 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo and a 2.0-litre four-pot hybrid from Sonata should be topped off by a 3.8-litre V6 that generates 291 horsepower. The engines could have an eight-speed automatic transmission as an option sending power to all the four wheels. New-Gen Kia Sorento likely to introduced in India vs CBU route in 2021 and could be priced around Rs. 28-32 Lakh Rupees.
