Hyundai has given completely new design theme for front and rear as it looks like a new generation model rather than a mid-life facelift
Hyundai Elantra facelift has already been spied in Korea ahead of public debut next month. But this is the first time we could see new model in all its glory and boy oh boy, what a change it is. Hyundai has given completely new design theme for front and rear as it looks like a new generation model rather than a mid-life facelift.
The signature grille of Hyundai is more stylish and it is wider now compared to previous model. The company has given a new sharper design theme for headlamps and it extend towards front grille. Hyundai might give LED lights for Elantra to make it more upmarket compared to current projector set up.
The front bumper is also completely new along with new design for fog lamps and air-pocket on the side to channel air towards front wheels, which will reduce drag. Hyundai is implementing these subtle things on most of the new models and this will help the company to improve efficiency and performance.
The side design of Elantra is carried over from current model except for new diamond cut alloy wheels which looks really good. But the rear is also completely new, as the design took some inspirations from current generation Sonata. The Elantra comes with LED tail lamps which extend towards boot.
The Elantra name is written on the centre of boot and number plate holder position changed to bumper from boot. Hyundai has also given a small lip spoiler to further increase the sporty appeal. The rear bumper also gets new reflectors and overall, the exterior design is aggressive and sporty which will appeal to a wider range of customers.
The interior is expected to be carried over from current model with some new features like wireless charging and colour options. Hyundai will introduce a new 1.6 L petrol engine with 123 PS and 154 Nm. We are expecting the current engine lineup to be carried over for Indian model and launch might take place in 2019.
