Hyundai Venue vs Maruti Vitara Brezza vs Mahindra XUV300 – Dimensions Comparison

Hyundai Venue vs Vitara Brezza vs XUV300

Launched on May 21, the Hyundai Venue has been pitted against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford Ecosport

The All-New Hyundai Venue was launched earlier this week and has already managed to create a lot interest among the sub-compact SUV buyers. On sale in a price range of just Rs 6.5 lakh to 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan-India), the new model becomes the country’s ‘first connected SUV’ with as many as 33 connected features.

The Hyundai Venue also brings in the company’s 1.0-litre Turbo GDI petrol engine along with the 7-speed DCT to the Indian market. However, there are some who feel that the Venue is a bit too small in dimensions when compared with its rivals. Here is our Hyundai Venue vs Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza vs XUV300 dimensions comparison to give you an idea about the size of the new model.

The Hyundai Venue measures 3,995 mm in length, which is the same as what even the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Mahindra XUV300 measure. The fact that all these SUVs are equally long isn’t surprising as compact SUVs are defined by their sub-4-metre length. Therefore, none of these three models hold any sort of advantage over the others in this aspect.

Fuel Tank – 45 L 48 L 42 L

The Hyundai Venue has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm, which is, again, the same as that of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. However, the XUV300 shares its award-winning X100 platform with the SsangYong Tivoli, which is the size of the Hyundai Creta. This has resulted into the XUV300 benefitting from a segment-best wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

The Hyundai Venue SUV has an overall width of 1,770 mm. The Maruti Vitara Brezza is 20 mm wider, while the Mahindra XUV300, at 1,821 mm, is more than 50 mm wider. In fact, the XUV300 is the widest model in its segment (Including Ecosport, Nexon and WR-V). Hence, the Hyundai Venue clearly lacks in this aspect, which reflects in its interior space, where seating three on the rear seat could be an issue.

The Venue SUV has an overall height of 1,605 mm, which makes it 35 mm shorter than the Maruti Vitara Brezza and 22 mm shorter than the Mahindra XUV300. The low height is one of the biggest reason for the ‘small’ looks of the Venue.  SUV’s are known for their daunting appearance, much of which is due to their height and the Venue lacks a little in this aspect.

If we speak about the ground clearance, which is among the most important deciding factors for most car buyers, it’s the Maruti Vitara Brezza that triumphs with 198 mm of ground clearance.

The Hyundai Venue, at 190 mm, isn’t far behind while the Mahindra XUV300 makes do with 180 mm of clearance. The Venue might have been criticised for a cramped rear seat but it definitely offers more boot space (350-litre) than Maruti Vitara Brezza (328-litre) and Mahindra XUV300 (265-litre).

Both Hyundai Venue and Vitara Brezza ride on 16-inch wheels, while the Mahindra XUV300 boasts 17-inch rims. The Brezza has the highest fuel tank capacity among the three with a 48-litre of fuel carrying provision. In comparison, the Venue offers a 45-litre tank while the baby-XUV makes do with a 42-litre unit.
