Hyundai Compact SUV Carlino Concept unveiled-3 (Hyundai Styx)

The Hyundai QXI is likely to share its platform with the next-gen Grand i10. It started life as the Carlino concept, which debuted at the Auto Expo 2016 many years ago. The new SUV will not look much like the concept though, as it will adopt the company’s latest design language.

Spy images show its side profile would have an uncanny resemblance with the Hyundai Creta. At its front, it will have a cascading grille and the Composite Light multi-tier lighting arrangement. The side profile will carry dual-tone alloy wheels, while the rear will have LED tail lamps and a steeply raking windscreen.

The Hyundai Styx will be available with a 1.0-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The former could even offer a dual-clutch transmission. Prices are expected to start at Rs 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom). There are rumours that the base model will be powered by a naturally aspirated petrol engine that will be available with an optional AMT.
