Hyundai is offering heavy discounts on insurance and exchange offers with the Tucson SUV just before the festive season
The Tucson SUV since its launch in India has not been able to attract too much attention. Hyundai was able to sell around 150 units of the Tucson in the month of July 2018. Launched back in 2017 the mid-size SUV was set to rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Tata Hexa and Mahindra XUV500.
The SUV is offered with both diesel and petrol drivetrains and even four-wheel drive option. Now before the festive season, Hyundai is offering heavy discounts on both the petrol and diesel variants to attract the customers. Believe it or not but Hyundai is offering free insurance worth Rs. 1,20,000 with the diesel variants plus an additional Rs. 30,000 on the exchange.
Besides that, they are also offering free insurance worth Rs. 1,05,000 with the petrol variants plus an additional 30, 000 on exchange bonus. The Tucson SUV sits in between the compact Size Creta and full-size Santa Fe SUV.
Under the hood, the Tucson gets a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The 2.0 Litre petrol is capable of producing a peak power of 153 bhp and 192.2 Nm of torque. The diesel variant, on the other hand, produces a peak power of 182.5 bhp and peak torque of 400 Nm.
Both the diesel and petrol unit are offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The SUV which is currently on sale in India is a pre-facelift variant while Hyundai introduced the facelift variant in April and its now already on sale in some specific International markets.
Hyundai will be launching the facelift variant too in India by early 2019 which will replace the existing vehicle and will be priced slightly higher than the current Tucson. As far as the pricing is concerned the prices for the Hyundai Tucson SUV starts at Rs. 18.30 lakh for the base variant, and goes all the way to Rs. 25.74 lakh for the top spec diesel variant (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
