Hyundai Motor India Limited celebrated stepping into 20th year in the Indian market earlier this month. On the eve of the jubilation, it was announced that two special edition models will be launched to commemorate the special occasion. The country’s leading exporter of passenger cars broke covers off the Xcent limited edition which is available only in the S trim carrying a price tag Rs. 16,999 more than the regular version.

Only 2,400 units of the celebratory version of the compact sedan is being sold and comes at prices of Rs. 6.22 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs. 7.15 lakh (ex-showroom prices, Delhi) for the diesel model. Following the Xcent, a report from Rushlane says the hatchback Grand i10 has received the special treatment via another 20th anniversary edition.

The Hyundai Grand i10 20th anniversary edition will be retailed at a price tag of Rs. 6.05 lakh for the petrol version while the diesel model will be sold at Rs. 7.06 lakh (both ex-showroom prices, Ahmedabad). It has been said that the special editions offer benefits of up to Rs. 65,000 and customers will only have to wait for ten days to get the car delivered.

The special edition Grand i10 will be available in the SportZ middle trim and the changes are limited to exterior makeovers and interior embellishments to highlight the purpose of the limited production run. The mechanicals remain identical to the regular Grand i10 as the 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT four-pod petrol motor continue to churn out a maximum power output of 81 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.

As for the diesel, the second-gen 1.1-litre U2 CRDi turbocharged diesel engine will stay put with developing 70 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 160 Nm torque at 1,500 rpm. Both mills will be linked with the standard five-speed manual gearbox while the petrol variant can be ordered with four-speed automatic as well.

On the outside, the special edition gets rear-mounted spoiler with integrated brake lights, red decals, 20th anniversary edition badge, hubcaps and blackened B-Pillar. The interior features contrast red and black dual tone colour scheme besides a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
