Hyundai Exter Safety Features

Hyundai Exter will be available in an expansive range and it will be powered by a 1.2L NA petrol engine with CNG option

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) will introduce the Exter on July 10, 2023 in the domestic market and it will become the most affordable SUV from the brand as it will be positioned below the Venue compact SUV. The Hyundai Exter will compete in a segment that hasn’t been crowded yet and it will have all the bells and whistles to be a success on paper.

The five-seater is based on the proven platform used in the Grand i10 Nios compact hatchback and Aura compact sedan while the mechanical bits and the powertrain lineup are all the more familiar. The 1.2L NA three-cylinder petrol engine found in the i10, i20, Venue, Aura and Sonet will be employed in the Exter and it will develop 84 PS and 113 Nm.

The powertrain will be linked with a five-speed manual transmission as standard while a five-speed AMT will be an option. More importantly, the second largest car producer in the country will offer the factory-fitted CNG version right from the launch (69 PS and 95.2 Nm) and it will adhere to the needs of customers wanting to have a budget SUV with good fuel efficiency.
