Hyundai is seriously banking on its international models and Elite i20 turned out to be a over achiever!
Hyundai’s Elite i20 was on the path of success the moment the styling was announced. A stylish hatchback like this was never seen before and given Hyundai’s brand image it had to have everything on the inside too. Refined engines, first in class features and superior quality with good dynamics and peppy performance. Hyundai has just announced that the the the cumulative sales of the i20 reached a whopping one lakh units within a year, just shy of one month. Cumulative this time means that this has been possible of Elite i20 working in conjunction with the Active i20.
After winning several awards including the ICOTY for the i20, the car kept roaring on sales chart. With the Active i20 also being something special and noteworthy to choose from the sales are at a all time, which sets a benchmark in the industry that will be difficult for competition to overcome. The competition is finally insight as the Honda Jazz and Maruti’s YRA are almost ready to give it a tough fight because on the face of it both these products have what it take to take disrupt the sales quite a bit from the Hyundai’s milestone achiever.

Powering the Elite i20 is the petrol and diesel engines which come from last generation i20 and are tweaked to give more response and efficiency. The engines offer mileage of 18.60 kmpl (Era/Magna – ARAI Certified) for the 1.2 Dual VTVT Kappa petrol and a mileage 22.54 kmpl (Era/Magna – ARAI Certified) for the 1.4 Diesel.
Higher variant with 16-inch wheels have slightly less mileage figures which includes the Active i20. Diesel being the enthusiast choice while the petrol takers are usually first time buyers. All of this combined in a good looking car with dynamics being slightly before and tonnes of features backed by Hyundai’s excellent after sales and service Hyundai can expect the sales to stay till the stiff competition arrives.
