The previous generation of Ertiga is still available in some dealerships and it comes with a total discount of Rs. 90,100
Maruti Suzuki is offering a huge discount with 2018 MY of Ertiga as some dealerships are yet to clear the stock. The MPV comes with a total discount of up to Rs. 90,100 which includes Rs. 50,000 cash discount, Rs. 35,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 5100 corporate discount. The offer will be valid only for the old stocks.
The new generation of Ertiga doesn’t come with any discounts. The previous generation Ertiga comes in both diesel and petrol models with a manual gearbox as standard and 4-speed automatic available only with the petrol variant. Even though the model is old, the total discounts make it very attractive.
The sales of old Ertiga was very low during the end of the life cycle and the company had cut down production also. During this same period, Mahindra introduced the Marazzo which affected the sales of Ertiga as the Marazzo offered lots of features along with more space inside the cabin.
Maruti Suzuki introduced the second generation Ertiga on November 21 and sales of the MPV has been really good. The new Ertiga is based on the Heartect platform and it is 99 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 5 mm taller compared to the earlier model but the wheelbase of 2,700 mm remains the same. The company reduced the boot space by 32 litres.
But the Ertiga comes with the option of 50:50 split folding option for the third row and 60:40 split seats for the second row, the company is offering it from base variant onwards. The engineers have tuned the suspension for Indian roads and ride quality of the new model is excellent. But the big talking point of the new model is the 1.5 L petrol engine.
Maruti Suzuki introduced this new 1.5 L petrol engine with dual battery set up in Ciaz and it produces 105 PS of power and 138 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and 4-speed auto gearbox with a smart hybrid system to improve efficiency. The diesel engine is the same 1.3 L unit from the earlier model and it is expected to be replaced by a new diesel engine soon.
