Honda has today announced the launch of the NX500 adventure tourer in the domestic market and it carries a price tag of Rs. 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom introductory, Delhi). It is slightly more expensive than the CB500X it replaces and gets a slew of updates compared to the old model. The Japanese auto giant has presented the NX500 in three different paint schemes (red, white and black).
The customer deliveries of the Honda NX500 will begin next month in India and it will be sold exclusively through the company’s BigWing dealerships across the country. The Honda NX500 competes with the Kawasaki Versys 650 which is Rs. 1.87 lakh costlier and in terms of pricing, it won’t have any direct rivals as the advs in the 300-450 cc segments are far less cheaper.

The powertrain is linked with a six-speed transmission while a slipper and assist clutch comes as a standard fitment. In terms of styling, the NX500 is a radical departure compared to the more reserved CB500X.
The NX nameplate has been more specifically used for dual sport motorcycles throughout Honda’s history. The latest Honda NX500 made its global debut at the EICMA 2023 in early November in Milan, Italy. It sits on a diamond frame and the suspension duties are handled by upside-down front forks and monoshock suspension at the rear with preload adjustability.
It has a fuel tank capacity of 17.5 litres and is lighter than the CB500X by 3 kg at 196 kg. As for braking, Honda offers dual 296 mm disc brakes at the front and a single 240 mm disc at the rear, supported by a dual-channel ABS system. It runs on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast alloy wheels while the five-inch TFT instrument console is another highlight.
It comes with Bluetooth connectivity, notification alerts and navigation. The adventure touring machine is brought into the country via the CBU route resulting in a more premium positioning.
