Honda Dio H-Smart variant sits at the top of the range and is priced Rs. 77,712 (ex-showroom); other variants’ prices are up too

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has silently introduced the Dio H-Smart in the domestic market as its prices have been listed on the official website. The Honda Dio H-Smart carries a price tag of Rs. 77,712 (ex-showroom) while the prices of the regular variants have been increased slightly due to the updates involved in making the engine meet BSVI stage 2 emission norms.

The Honda Dio H-Smart sits at the top of the range and it follows the launch of the Activa H-Smart in 110 cc and 125 cc iterations. The standard variant of the Honda Dio has its price increased by Rs. 1,586 while the DLX is now priced at Rs. 74,212 (ex-showroom). While the official specifications are not known yet, it could get alloy wheels making the scooter lighter.

As for the performance, the 109 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine has been updated to meet the latest emission standards. It will likely continue to produce around 7.8 bhp maximum power and 9 Nm of peak torque. The new Honda Smart Key should offer functions like Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Start and Smart Safe.

The engine start/stop switch operates in two directions: pressing it downward starts the engine while pressing it upward functions as an engine kill switch. Additionally, the H-Smart variant features a Lock Mod that enables a 5-in-1 function without requiring a physical key. The smart key assists in easily locating the vehicle.

When the answer back button is pressed on the Honda Smart Key, all four turn indicators will blink twice. The smart key system also makes it possible to lock and unlock the vehicle without using a physical key. If no activity is seen for twenty seconds after activation, the scooter automatically gets deactivated.

The Mapped Smart ECU acts as a security device by electronically matching (ID) between the ECU and Smart Key. Thus, vehicle theft can be prevented. It has an immobilizer system which prevents a non-registered key from starting the engine. If the smart key is within the range of two metres, then the rider can smoothly start the vehicle by rotating the knob on the Loc Mod to the ignition position and pushing the start button without even taking out the key.
