The petrol variant of City is powered by 1.5 L i-VTEC engine producing 119 PS of power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,600. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox options. According to ARAI, the manual variant of City petrol returns 17.4 kmpl and 18.0 kmpl for the CVT variant.

Honda is also offering CVT automatic option in V, VX and ZX variants. The City is one of the most popular cars in its segment and the company first introduced the sedan in 1998. Since then, Honda sold more than 7.5 lakh units across the country and currently, the model is in its fourth generation.

Most of the buyers of City prefer the petrol model over diesel because of the refinement from the i-VTEC engine. Some of the features standard across the variants are automatic climate control, rear AC vents, Bluetooth connectivity for the audio system, alloy wheels (entry-level model gets 15-inch and 16-inch on top end variants), cruise control, shark fin antenna and more.
