Hero launched the Xpulse 200, 200T and Xtreme 200S in India a few days ago. The newly introduced Xpulse 200 replaces the old Impulse that was launched back in 2011. The Xpulse 200 will attract the attention of those buyers who always wanted a cheaper adventure motorcycle which is lightweight, comfortable and of course has low maintenance.

The Xpulse 200T that is based on the same platform and also shares the same chassis and powertrain with the Xpulse 200 adventure motorcycle. The Xpulse 200 T is a road-biased motorcycle that will rival directly against some other 200 cc motorcycle including the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the Apache RTR 200 4V.

Both the Xpulse 200 and 200T get plenty of features and are perhaps the most loaded motorcycle that Hero has launched in India. That said, we will be comparing both the Xpulse 200 and the Xpulse 200T on the basis of their styling, powertrain, suspension, brakes, and pricing. Like we already mentioned above the Xpulse 200 has been built to take on any terrain with ease. Hero has taken a simple approach while designing its newest motorcycle. The adventure motorcycle gets a high mounted mudguard towards the front and an engine bash plate to protect the engine, Swept up the exhaust, and long suspension travel to give it a more practical and purposeful appearance.

The motorcycle also gets a 21 inch spoke wheels towards the front and an 18-inch wheel towards the rear wrapped with dual purpose Ceat Gripp tyres. The Xpulse 200 shares the same headlamp, LCD instrument cluster, seats and fuel tank with the Xpulse 200T.
The Xpulse 200T, on the other hand, gets a more conventional approach.

It gets the same round shaped LED headlamps but misses out on the flyscreen that you will find in the Xpulse 200. The fully digital instrument cluster like we said has been shared with the Xpulse 200 and it features smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation.

It also offers service reminder indicator, gear indicator two trip meters. Unlike the Xpulse 200, the Xpulse 200T gets 17-inch alloy wheels and road spec MRF Nylogrip rubbers. Both the bikes get 13 litres fuel tank.

Both the Xpulse 200 and the 200T shares the same 199.6 cc, 2-valve, air-cooled engine tuned for 18.4 Ps of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. For your information, the Xpulse 200 is also available with fuel injection as well whereas the Xpulse 200 is available only with a carbureted variant.

The Xpulse 200 gets a completely different 37 mm telescopic fork up front and a 10-step pre-load adjustable monoshock unit at the rear with 170 mm travel. The long suspension travel makes sure that the motorcycle is able to soak up some serious amount of bumps when there is no tarmac. The Xpulse 200T on the other shares its suspension setup with the Xtreme 200R.

The motorcycle depends on 37mm conventional telescopic forks at the front and a 7 step pre-load adjustable monoshock unit at the rear. Both the motorcycle uses the same 276 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear. A single channel ABS is also offered as standard with both the motorcycle for the safety of the rider.
