Hero Motocorp will introduce the Xpulse 200 twins and perhaps a fully faired sportsbike which will underpin their existing Xtreme 200R platform

Hero Motocorp had set their bars quite high when they introduced the  Karizma in India back in the year 2003. It has been almost fifteen years but quite honestly Hero failed to find a suitable replacement for this iconic motorcycle. However, that is perhaps going to change in 2019.

Believe it or not, but this renowned homegrown two-wheeler giant is planning to introduce three new entry-level premium motorcycles this new year that will be powered by their newly developed 200 cc single cylinder powertrain.

While we have already informed you about the two upcoming motorcycles already but there is one more motorcycle which will perhaps join the bandwagon as well. That said, here is the list of 3 upcoming 200cc motorcycles which will be launched this year in India from Hero Motocorp’s stable.

1. Hero HX 200R

We all know Indian motorcycle enthusiasts love for fully faired motorcycles and we are pretty sure Hero will be launching a fully faired motorcycle too based on their recently developed Xtreme 200R platform which will perhaps replace the ageing Karizma ZMR. We have already informed you earlier that the upcoming faired motorcycle will take its styling inspiration from the Hero HX 250R concept which was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo.

You can expect the HX 200R to borrow the engine, brakes and suspension setup from the recently introduced Xtreme 200R.  While it will be powered by the same 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine coupled with a five-speed constant mesh transmission.

The engine is capable of producing about 18.4 Ps of peak power and 17 Nm of peak torque. The HX 200R will rely on a 276 mm disc brakes towards the front and 220 mm disc at the rear for stopping.  The motorcycle will feature full LED headlamps and taillamp setup, full digital instrument cluster and single-channel ABS system for the safety of the rider.

2. Hero Xpluse 200

We all have been waiting for this entry-level adventure tourer for a long time now after it made its first public appearance at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show. The Xpulse 200 will definitely get a lot of attention in India because it will give the adventure enthusiast an affordable entry motorcycle which can be also used for long tours.

The Xpulse 200 will also be the most loaded motorcycle that will be launched by Hero Motocorp. The adventure tourer features a long suspension travel, knobby offroad tires, a full digital instrument cluster with Smartphone integration via Bluetooth and an all-LED headlamp.

The motorcycle will be powered by the same 199.6 cc air-cooled, 4 Stroke 2 Valve Single cylinder OHC unit paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine produces about 18.4 Ps of peak power and 17.1 Nm of peak torque (on the Xtreme 200R) but we sincerely hope that Hero tunes the engine differently for this particular motorcycle.

3. Hero Xpluse 200T

Hero unveiled the Xpulse 200T at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show alongside the Xpulse 200. The 200T is the more touring or road friendly variant of the Xpulse 200. The 200T gets a smaller 17-inch wheel on both ends instead of bigger 21 inch and 19-inch wheels seen on the offroad centric Xpulse 200.

The wheels are wrapped with standard MRF street tires. The 200T also gets a reduced seat height and a lower ground clearance than the Xpulse 200. Lastly, the Xpulse 200T also features a smoked windscreen, digital instrument cluster (identical to the Xpulse 200) and a sculpted fuel tank.

TheHero  Xpulse 200T will share the same engine with the Xpulse 200. It will use the 199.6cc air-cooled unit that produces 18.4 BHP and 17.1 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
