Hero MotoCorp has re-introduced the Vida V1 Plus eScooter at a competitive price of Rs. 1.15 lakh, targeting eco-conscious riders who want an affordable commuter

To fortify its standing in the thriving electric scooter market, Hero MotoCorp has officially launched the 2024 iteration of the Vida V1 Plus in India. This calculated step positions the electric scooter as a strong contender against rivals such as the Ather 450S, Bajaj Chetak, and Ola S1 Air.

Hero MotoCorp encountered several challenges before successfully introducing their electric vehicle under the distinct Vida sub-brand. The initial launch of the Vida V1 Plus faced criticism for its pricing, prompting a revision. Last year, Hero responded by unveiling the Vida V1 Pro at a more reasonable effective price of Rs. 1.4 lakh, including central subsidies. However, the Vida V1 Plus was temporarily taken off the shelves.

Fast-forward to 2024, Hero MotoCorp has reintroduced the new Vida V1 Plus, offering it at an attractive price of Rs. 1.15 lakh, inclusive of FAME II central subsidy and a portable charger. This reintroduction positions the Vida V1 Plus as a compelling option, especially considering its lower price tag compared to the top-spec Vida V1 Pro, which is priced Rs. 30,000 higher.

State governments across India are contributing to the adoption of electric mobility by offering additional subsidies. For instance, residents in Delhi can avail the Vida V1 Plus at an effective price of under Rs. 1 lakh, precisely Rs. 97,800. This move aims to ease the financial burden on buyers, fostering a faster transition towards greener transportation alternatives.

The Vida V1 Plus shares many similarities with its more premium counterpart, the Vida V1 Pro. Both scooters exhibit comparable styling cues, seating ergonomics, and a user-friendly 7-inch touchscreen dashboard. Additionally, they both are equipped with a 6 kW electric motor and have a top speed of 80 km/h.

However, distinctions lie in specific attributes that justify the pricing disparity between the V1 Plus and V1 Pro. The V1 Pro boasts a larger 3.94 kWh battery, delivering an extended range of 110 km on a single charge. In contrast, the V1 Plus features a slightly smaller 3.44 kWh battery, offering a commendable 100 km range.

With a current discount of Rs. 30,000, the 2024 Hero Vida V1 Plus stands as a budget-friendly and eco-friendly mobility solution, catering to a wider audience and contributing to the growing momentum of electric vehicles in the Indian market.
