Hero MotoCorp has launched the Duet 110cc scooter in Bangalore today. The Duet is the second scooter from the Hero stable when it comes to self-made engines and chassis. Maestro and Pleasure are Honda made scooters.
Duet is the metal body scooter which is clearly going to hit with the commuters as they heavier, less efficient vehicles over fibre body, more efficient and maneuverable scooters. Duet is clearly 5 kgs heavier than the Maestro Edge despite looking sleeker.
Hero Duet Scooter comes with a 111cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine that churns out 8.31 BHP @ 8000 RPM and 8.3 Nm of torque @ 6500 RPM. The claimed fuel efficiency of the scooter is 63.8 kpl, which almost 2 km/l less than the Maestro Edge.
Hero has claimed best in class efficiency as the scooter makes power and torque higher in rev band than any scooter in the country. TPS aka Throttle Position Sensor is here make things economical and responsive.
Hero Duet Scooter will be made available in six colours such as Candy Blazing Red, Pearl Silver White, Grace Grey, Matte Nature Green, Panther Black and Vernier Grey. Hero Duet Scooter comes with an Combi Braking aka IBS in Hero term, which is acronym for Integrated Braking System. Telescopic fork suspension at the front is the highlight of the scooter over it key rival the Activa.
Duet comes with features such as under-seat mobile charging port, remote seat opening and fuel-lid opener which is placed outside. Pass switch is also here like the Jupiter integrated inside the high beam button itself.
There is a service reminder, side stand indicator, dual parking lamps, tubeless tyres and much more. Hero Duet goes against tough competitors such as Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, Yamaha Alpha.
