The deliveries of the Harley-Davidson X440 will begin in October 2023 and currently, bookings are taken for an initial token of Rs. 5,000

On July 3, 2023 Harley-Davidson introduced the X440 in the domestic market for a starting price of Rs. 2.29 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The first motorcycle coming out of the alliance with Hero MotoCorp is said to be well received by customers. However, within a month of its market launch, the American manufacturer has announced a substantial price hike.

The neo retro roadster will have its prices increased by Rs. 10,500 across the range. Thus, the entry-level Denim variant will cost Rs. 2,39,500, the mid-spec Vivid at Rs. 2,59,500 and the range-topping S trim at Rs. 2,79,500 (all prices, ex-showroom). These prices will only be applicable when the next booking window opens though as the customers reserving the motorcycle until August 3 are eligible for the introductory prices.

Could this be another strategy to get more people on board before the booking window closes on August 3? Harley-Davidson will commence the test rides of the X440 at dealerships from September 1, 2023 while the customer deliveries will begin in October. The official booking can be made for an initial token of Rs. 5,000.

The motorcycle’s series production will begin at Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing unit in Neemrana, Rajasthan and the deliveries will be made based on how sooner the motorcycle is booked by the customer. The new prices will be effective from August 4, 2023 but the brand has not announced when the next booking window will open.

The Harley-Davidson X440’s design is inspired by that of the XR1200 and is powered by a 440 cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine, which is good enough to develop a maximum power output of 27 bhp and 38 Nm of peak torque. The engine is hooked with a six-speed transmission. It is built on a steel trellis frame and boasts a host of premium equipment.

The features list comprises 43 mm USD front forks and twin-sided rear shock absorbers, 320 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc brakes assisted by a dual-channel ABS system, round-shaped LED headlamp with LED Daytime Running Light, side stand engine cut-off function, single-pod TFT cluster with Bluetooth and a lot more.
