Harley Davidson 48X is expected to be based on standard Forty Eight; Pan America could be a traditional tourer

Harley Davidson has filed patents for its two upcoming motorcycles that will be christened as the 48X and Pan America. While no details have been disclosed by the iconic American motorcycle brand, expect the 48X to be based on the standard Harley Davidson Forty Eight. On the other hand, Pan America could be a traditional tourer.

We hope to learn more about these two upcoming motorcycles in a few days. Both these models are likely to launch sometime in 2018 or 2019. This move comes just a few days after the brand filed patent for the badge Harley Davidson Bronx. Clearly, the motorcycle manufacturer is working on some exciting new products that would be unveiled soon.

Speaking about the Harley Davidson Forty Eight, it gets energy from a 1,202 cc engine. But the upcoming Harley 48X is likely to be powered by a 749 cc Revolution X engine. On the other hand, the HD Pan America would arrive with the brand’s ‘batwing’ fairing, a top box for luggage, panniers and a premium infotainment system. All of these features are meant to make it a classic touring motorcycle.

Power source for the Harley Davidson Pan America could be a 1,745 cc Milwaukee 107 engine that would generate power and torque output similar as the other touring models from the brand. While these two upcoming Harley models will certainly launch in US market at the beginning, we can expect them to arrive in Indian market as well at later stage.
