Genesis G70 luxury sports sedan is based on Genesis New York Concept; shares many components with Kia Stinger
Hyundai’s luxury car wing Genesis is all set to bring the much awaited Genesis G70 sports sedan in front of public on 15th September in Seoul, South Korea. Based on the Genesis New York Concept from 2016 New York International Auto Show, the Genesis G70 shares several components with Kia Stinger. But, in terms of performance and luxury on offer, Genesis G70 is much ahead of the Kia car. It will be priced from $33,467 (Rs. 21,43,059) in South Korean market.
As Hyundai described the Genesis G70, it is shorter, narrower and lighter than the Kia Stinger and it also has a shorter wheelbase as well. The car will compete with rivals from the house of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Jaguar. Hyundai expects the Genesis G70 to snatch away a sizeable chunk of buyers from the three German luxury car brands.

Genesis G70 sports sedan shares the same underpinning as the Kia Stinger. The Korean luxury car manufacturer claims, this upcoming sports sedan has a quicker acceleration capability of reaching 100 kmph from standstill in just 4.7 seconds. It will be available in three different engine options that include a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 3.3-litre turbocharged petrol motor and a 2.2-litre fuel burner as well.
The smaller petrol engine is capable of churning out 259 PS of peak power. The range topping variant of the Genesis G70 will be powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 sourced from Kia engine that would pump out 370 PS of peak power and 494 Nm of peak torque. Also, the top-end model will get AWD. This sports sedan will have a top speed of 270 kmph.

As the automaker says, the G70 sports sedan comes with a perfect blend of design, driving performance and luxury. To ensure optimum performance and safety, Genesis G70 will have several interesting technologies that include Variable-ratio Gear Steering (VGR), Electronic Control Suspension (ECS), dynamic torque vectoring system, 9 way airbag, active hood system, Highway Driving Assistance, Driver Attention Warning, Backside Collision Warning etc.
