Ford has updated the EcoSport for MY19 and added a new Thunder Edition with visual changes soon after Hyundai Venue launch
Ford India recently updated the EcoSport compact SUV and introduced the model year 2019 at a starting price of Rs 7.69 Lakh (ex-showroom). Along with the updated EcoSport, Ford has also added a new Thunder Edition to the lineup. The Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition is priced at Rs 10.18 Lakh (ex-showroom) for petrol the engine. Here’s what is new in the new Thunder Edition –
1. Design
The new Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition gets a host of exterior changes as compared to the regular EcoSport. Although the standard EcoSport looks good, we have seen in the past how minor changes add a charm to the SUV thanks to the Black Edition. The Thunder Edition carries forward the same with changes that enhance the appeal like the introduction of dark inserts on the headlamp cluster and a more prominent black treatment to the fog lamp bezel.
The grille is also black painted along with a dual tone bonnet, sporty new 17-inch alloy wheels, blacked out rear-view mirrors and decals on doors. This black treatment on the exterior adds a sporty character to the Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition.
2. Cabin
The Ford EcoSport Thunder carries forward the sporty theme to the cabin and there’s an abundant use of cognac accents on the front seats, door inserts, centre console and instrument panel. Ford has added an electric sunroof to the Thunder Edition.
The variant also comes with a 9-inch floating touchscreen with embedded navigation and connectivity features that performs various functions like attending calls, listening to music or reading messages through simple voice commands.
3. Engine
The Ford EcoSport Thunder Edition is available as an option pack on the car’s Titanium variant. It is powered by Ford’s 1.5-litre three-cylinder TiVCT petrol engine that delivers 123 PS of power and fuel efficiency of 17 Km/L. The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine churns 100 PS power and 23 Km/L fuel efficiency.
