Ford India has today launched the Thunder Edition of the EcoSport with starting price of Rs. 10.18 lakh for the petrol variant while the diesel version costs Rs. 10.68 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). The Thunder Edition is part of Ford’s response towards growing competition in the sub-four-metre SUV segment which saw the arrival of new rivals, the Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue.

Both Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue have managed to outsell the EcoSport in their opening months. The latter finished its first month with 7,000 dispatches across the country while the XUV300 got the better of the EcoSport in consecutive months. The EcoSport Thunder Edition comes with a host of exterior and interior updates while the entire range seems to have seen variant updates.

As for the exterior, it boasts black treated fog lamp bezel, black inserts in the headlamps cluster, black finished front grille assembly and Outside Rear View Mirrors, two-tone bonnet, sporty decals on the doors, a set of newly designed 17-inch black alloy wheels, blackened roof rails and the roof, Thunder Edition badge on the tailgate and so on.
