The KTM RC 125 shares plenty in common with the naked Duke 125 and is powered by the same liquid-cooled engine developing 14.5 PS and 12 Nm

KTM India teased the RC 125 a while ago arousing expectations of the young enthusiasts and it has finally launched the motorcycle for a price of Rs. 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). The motorcycle is positioned in between the entry-level Duke 125 and the Duke 200 and is cheaper than the latter by a little margin.

It rivals directly against the likes of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0, which is priced at Rs. 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the dual-channel ABS variant. The KTM RC 125 is based on the Duke 125 and it shares plenty of mechanical components between each other. In short, the fully-faired bike looks identical to the bigger RC 200.

The fairing design is similar to the bigger RC models available in the country while sharing the mandatory parts such as the saree guard, wheels, tyres and footpeg with the 125 Duke. The supersport features an underbelly exhaust system as well as a striking new black and orange shade that would appeal to the customers in aplenty.

The motorcycle comes equipped with a lower set clip-on handlebars and more slightly rear set footpegs compared to the Duke 125. The KTM RC 125 shares its 124.7 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with the naked streetfighter sibling. The powertrain is capable of producing about 14.5 PS of peak power at 9,250 rpm and 12Nm of peak torque delivered at 8,000 rpm.

It is connected with a six-speed gearbox. The new entry-level faired motorcycle from KTM, claimed to have MotoGP gene, uses a conventional telescopic fork at the front and monoshock setup at the rear while the stopping duties are handled by a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 230 mm disc brake at the rear.
