Base price for the number 0002-0009 will be Rs. 30,000; 0001 to get base price of Rs. 50,000
Delhi Transport Department has decided to auction the special registration numbers for two-wheelers. According to a new notification issued by the transport department, numbers from 0002 to 0009 will be auctioned with a base price of Rs. 30,000, while the very special number of 0001 will come with a base price of Rs. 50,000.
The transport commissioner of Delhi will receive objections and suggestions regarding this auction prices for next one month and after that there will be a notification before implementation of the new rule. As the Delhi Transport Department says, there will be six categories of registration numbers to be auctioned for two-wheelers.

Apart from the above mentioned numbers, third highest base price will be Rs. 20,000 for the numbers like 0010, 0099, 0786, 1000, 1111, 7777 and 9999. In the fourth category, base price will be Rs. 15,000 for the numbers like 0100, 0111, 0200, 0222, 0101, 0108, 1008 and 1313. Apart from these, any other special numbers will be auctioned at a base price of Rs. 5,000. Old special numbers could be retained by the owners by paying a minimum reserve price of Rs. 500.
Auction for these special two-wheeler registration numbers will be held on a weekly basis. The auction will be held through an online link on the Delhi Transport Department’s official website. Currently, the auction for fancy registration number is held for four wheelers and the number 0001 is most demanded that comes at a base price of Rs. 5 lakh.

Like that, the transport department believes two-wheeler buyers too will be attracted to such special numbers and 0001 is expected to draw most attention just like four wheels. Also, the Delhi Transport Department hopes to fetch generous amount of review with this auction for special registration number for two-wheelers.
