Datsun Redi-GO Production Version Spotted Testing for the First Time

Datsun Redigo

Datsun Redi-GO production version has been spotted testing in India; dimensions much similar to the concept

Nissan-Renault will be changing the way we look at small cars here in India despite the fact we have seen many small cars from our domestic king of car makers, Maruti Suzuki. Datsun Go was a very stylish attempt aimed at the competition inside-out in spite of the safety issues which were finally sorted. However, it seemed like a terrific option for urban and informed car buyers. To tap into that success, Renault launched the Kwid and made it a Micro SUV.

Nissan wants to tap into that success as well and has come up with a Go based mini SUV that will directly go ahead of the Kwid and other small cars such as Hyundai Eon, Maruti Alto 800 in the segment. Maruti Alto 800 is in trouble again as the Kwid already has a good amount of sales and bookings in its hand – given the sensational pricing of base and the higher spec variants coming with world-class equipment and safety features.

Nissan will be showcasing the Datsun Redi-GO Production version most likely in the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Here it has been caught testing with same tyres and wheels. The rear has quite a flat profile along with the raised SUV-like stance. Engines are likely to be the same but the pricing will be slightly higher than the Go+ SUV.

Given high pricing, Datsun can plonk in an AMT gearbox with the larger petrol engine also a possibility. The Datsun Redi-GO Production Version should be spied more often from here on and we surely will be there on-hand to publish the images for your viewing. Nissan-Renault are heading in an aggressive path at this moment in time and sooner we will see what that nurtures.
