Maruti Suzuki’s CTO, CV Raman, has been acknowledged as the Industry Personality of the Year at the 2024 Acer FASTER Awards
The Indian auto industry, currently third largest in the world, is no short of innovators and experts that largely work behind the curtains across various disciplines. At the Acer FASTER Awards, we take immense pleasure in acknowledging such personalities and third edition of the event saw CV Raman being recognised as the Industry Personality of the Year.
CV Raman holds a distinguished position as the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Maruti Suzuki, standing out as a prominent figure in the automotive industry. With a wealth of experience and unparalleled expertise, he plays a pivotal role in charting the course of Maruti Suzuki’s technological advancements and driving innovation strategies to new heights.
He is specialised in product design and development as well as vendor development and supply chain management including the enhancement of suppliers through joint ventures and technical collaborations. He has led numerous product development teams, overseeing projects from conceptualisation to Start of Production (SOP).
Raman’s leadership is distinguished by a commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. He has championed initiatives aimed at integrating advanced features and technologies into Maruti Suzuki vehicles, ensuring their competitiveness in a rapidly evolving market environment.
The debut of the 5-door Jimny in 2023 highlights Raman’s expertise, evident in the meticulous redesign process. His influence also encompasses the Fronx, which has strengthened Maruti Suzuki’s position in the SUV space and played a big role in the brand becoming the biggest SUV manufacturer in India this FY. Raman’s contributions have notably elevated MSIL’s global reputation and left a significant mark on Suzuki’s operations in India.
FASTER (Federation of Auto Scribes of the Electronic Realm) stands as the preeminent Indian organization, representing the most reputable and influential names in the online auto media sphere. Its member publications include CarBlogIndia, DriveSpark, GaadiWaadi, GearFliQ, Motoroids, Indian Torque, and Pilot on Wheels.
The publications under FASTER publish automotive content in six different languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The Acer FASTER Awards 2024 had Acer as the main sponsor while Garware Hi-Tech Films participated as the associate sponsor.
