Jawa Motorcycles officially opened bookings and the company is planning to open 105 dealerships initially across the country
Jawa Motorcycles officially announced its re-entry to India yesterday and the company introduced three new models – Jawa Roadster, Forty-Two and Perak. Initially, the company will sell Roadster and Forty-Two as Perak sales are expected to begin at a later stage. The iconic brand has officially opened bookings and customers can book via the official website.
The booking amount is Rs. 5000 and it is completely refundable also. The delivery of Roadster and Forty-Two will begin next month. The company will open 105 dealerships initially across the country and we will share dealer details soon. The dealerships will be similar to Royal Enfield as they want to offer the retro theme.
Like its main competitor, the company is also focusing on accessories sales as it will play a huge role in making India business profit. Jawa brand has lots of fan following across the country and sales are expected to be strong. TheForty-Two and Jawa Roadster are going to compete against the Royal Enfield Classic series.
Both bikes are built on a BSVI ready platform as it makes them future proof as the government is planning to introduce new emission norm by 2020. The engine shares basic architecture with Mahindra Mojo’s unit and the 293 cc, four-stroke, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine produces 27 hp and 28 Nm of torque.
This engine is mated to constant mesh 6-speed gearbox. We can expect good performance from this engine and the company has given 280 mm single disc with floating calliper at the front and 153 mm drum brake at the rear. Jawa is also offering single-channel ABS system as standard.
The suspension duties are handled by telescopic hydraulic forks at front and gas canister – twin shock hydraulic at the rear. The front gets 18-inch wheels with 90/90 section tyre and 17-inch wheels at rear with 120/80 section tyre. The kerb weight of Forty-Two is 170 kgs and fuel tank capacity is 14 litres. Jawa Forty-Two priced at Rs. 1.55 lakh and Jawa Roadster at Rs. 1.64 lakh (both, Ex-Showroom prices).
