The latest iteration of the Bajaj Chetak e-scooter which goes by the name Urbane has been launched in the Indian market. Sporting a marginally higher claimed range as compared to the current Chetak Premium, the Urbane variant brings a fresh breath of air to the Chetak Electric line-up, thereby putting it on the same track as its rival. Let’s have a look at the top 5 things to know about the Bajaj Chetak Urbane.

1. Bajaj Chetak Urbane: Price starts from Rs. 1.15 lakh

The Bajaj Chetak Urbane has been priced at Rs. 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the Premium variant the e-scooter is also listed on Bajaj’s website at a similar price of Rs. 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). 2. Bajaj Chetak Urbane: The New ‘Tecpac’

Bajaj Auto is also offering a ‘Tecpac’ which is priced at Rs. 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom). So, this Rs. 6,000 premium over the current model will give you an enhanced top speed of 74 kmph and a dedicated sports mode. In terms of features, the ‘Tecpac’ adds hill hold, reverse mode, OTA updated and more to the package.

In terms of claimed range, the Chetak Urbane takes the lead with 113 kilometres on a single charge which is slightly better than the existing Premium variant. However, it is important to note that in the case of Urbane, the listed range is IDC certified while the Premium’s IDC range stands at 126 kilometres. In addition to this, the battery pack capacity of the new Urbane trim stands at 2.9 kWh.

4. Bajaj Chetak Urbane: Design and Equipment

The design of the Chetak Urbane is more or less identical to the Premium variant. It gets a round LED headlamp, a sleek yet muscular silhouette, a flat floorboard and a single piece seat which helps to maintain the retro appeal. The familiar instrument cluster is also present on Urbane and the standard trim gets only an Eco mode with a claimed top speed of 63 kmph. Apart from this, the e-scooter remains the same in terms of suspension and braking hardware.

5. Bajaj Chetak Urbane: What’s Missing?

While the Chetak Urbane gets a lot of new additions, it missed out on an 800-watt charger. Instead, the new variant relies on a slower 650-watt charger which has taken up the charging time to 4 hours 50 minutes as compared to the 3 hours 50 minutes on the Chetak Premium.
