Audi Q8 e-tron Electric SUV and Sportback Launched At Rs. 1.14 Crore

Audi India has finally launched the Q8 e-tron, available in both SUV and Sportback guise; The facelift model of the e-tron comes at a starting price of Rs. 1.14 crore (ex-showroom)

Upgrading its electric vehicle line-up in India, Audi has launched the e-tron at a starting price of Rs. 1.14 crore (ex-showroom). The EV is available in both SUV and Sportback iterations and this is nothing but the facelift of the e-tron which was earlier sold in the domestic market. Along with this, the four-wheeler is available in two battery pack options i.e. 50 and 55, claiming a range of up to 600 kilometres on a single charge. The bookings of the Audi electric car are already underway for an initial sum of Rs. 5 lakh.

The price range of the Q8 e-tron SUV starts from Rs. 1.14 crore while the Sportback version will set you back by a minimum of Rs. 1.18 crore (both prices ex-showroom). The top-spec higher range version of both the SUV and Sportback comes at a sticker price of Rs. 1.26 crore and Rs. 1.30 crore (ex-showroom) respectively.

Audi Q8 e-tron Launched in India: Powertrain and Range

Both the SUV and Sportback versions of the latest Q8 e-tron comes powered by the same battery pack with similar power figures. The 55 guise uses a 114 kWh battery pack while the lower spec 50 version uses a 95kWh unit. The figures are up from the 95 kWh and 71 kWh battery capacities in the pre-facelift model.

The electric car gets two electric motors mounted on each axle putting out a power output of 340 bhp in 50 and 408 bhp in 55 versions. However, the torque output remains the same for both specs at 664 Nm. Despite the same battery and power specs in the SUV and Sportback versions, the claimed range differs due to the different body styles.

The electric SUV comes with a claimed range of 491 kilometres and 580 kilometres for the 50 and 55 variants respectively while the electric Sportback’s figures stand at 505 kilometres for the 50 trim and 600 kilometres for the 55 version. The battery pack is capable of supporting up to 170 kW DC fast charging and Audi is bundling the Q8 e-tron with a 22kW AC charger.

In terms of cosmetic updates, Audi has played around with exteriors to lend the Q8 e-tron a refreshed appeal while the interiors remain more or less the same as before. In India, the Q8 e-tron duo rivals the likes of BMW iX and Jaguar i-Pace.
