Audi India is aiming for double digit growth in Indian luxury market. The German manufacturer lost its crown to BMW in 2015 and then the growth of the company was going down. Mercedes-Benz is currently leading the market followed by BMW and then Audi. To regain the lost share, Audi is planning to introduce volume products in India.

The A3 is the entry level model of Audi in India and they want to launch models in Rs. 22-25 lakh price range. Mercedes has A-Class and B-Class as the entry level models and they are performing really well for the brand. In the next two years, Audi will introduce at least one model in SUV, sedan and hatchback segment.

The products will be decided carefully as they want to maintain the high-brand image. According to some reports, Audi is planning to launch Q2 in India and it will be the entry level model. The Q2 made its global debut at Geneva Motor Show in 2016 and it has been performing really well in global market, which gives confidence for the German manufacturer to go ahead with the decision.

Audi Q2 is based on MQB platform and it is a compact SUV in size. The German marque is developing a long wheelbase Q2 exclusive for China and it is also being considered for India market as Indians prefer back seat more even though it’s a SUV.

The design of Q2 is very much inline with Q range products with new single frame grille up front with swept back LED headlamps which give an SUV look for Q2. With bigger wheels, Q2 looks muscular from side angel also. The rear tail light design is different from other Audi models and the design is similar to Ameo tail light unit.

The interior of Q2 is simple and elegant. Audi is offering lots of features on Q2 including 8.3 inch MMI infotainment system, 14 speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, wireless charging, head-up-display, virtual display, dual zone climate control, sunroof and more.
